At a time when culture is being brutally cut and constantly devalued in Portugal, the project aims to represent a person made of wood by various cultural workers, anonymous and without individual representation. The wooden figure is thus inserted into an “abyss” almost forgotten by the world in contrast to the work, movement and colors that coexist within the figure - a direct representation of the effort and constant production and creation that exists within an artist, completely undervalued by the outside world.
When attempting to finish the figure, it breaks in half, again, representing the cut and the external factors that hinder the work of the cultural worker. However, it is the consensus of all of them that the figure will have a smile on its face when finished.
